I think about identity, value, and access — how these three get abstracted, resolved, and delivered through software, and what gets lost when they are implemented casually.

Five patent families filed between 2014 and 2018 anchor the thinking: privacy-preserving identity resolution, behavioral indexing under anonymity, programmable closed-loop value, trigger-event agentic systems, and the control surfaces that make those primitives usable. Most of that work was filed in an ad-tech context because that's the commercial surface that funded it. Most of the useful applications are somewhere else — healthcare, civic infrastructure, agentic commerce, stablecoin finance, access to complex systems. Read the patent portfolio for the deep dives.

Co-founded the U.S. Faster Payments Council, the industry body shepherding FedNow and ISO 20022 toward a modern real-time payments system. The current work extends the closed-loop primitive from the 2017 patent into stablecoin rails, software-defined point of sale, hardware-trust credential provisioning, and agentic payments — the infrastructure layer the 2017 filing was implicitly describing, before the rails existed to actually build it.

A recurring thesis across the portfolio: the most valuable systems are the ones that let ordinary people interact with institutional machinery — legal process, financial underwriting, healthcare navigation, civic records — on something closer to equal terms. The apparatus an institution deploys to navigate those systems can be reproduced at the speed and cost an individual can afford, if you build it well. That work is not about replacing expert humans. It is about making expert human judgment ten times more productive, which is what it takes for an individual to afford it.

An operating ethic: every non-trivial system is eventually operated by someone who didn't build it. Credentials, failure modes, access controls, and documentation should all reflect that. Systems designed for the convenience of their original builder fail by default; systems designed for handoff pass the test. This shows up in everything from how I structure API surfaces to how I organize household and family infrastructure.
